Following Sentinels’ successful qualification for VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025, we caught up with Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro to discuss the team’s performance, their biggest strengths, and the challenges they need to overcome heading into the international stage. With Sentinels looking strong in the VCT circuit, Zellsis provided insight into what’s working for the squad and what still needs improvement.
Qualifying for Masters Bangkok
Sentinels secured their spot at Masters Bangkok with a dominant run through the VCT Americas tournament, showcasing impressive synergy and individual performances. Zellsis reflected on the journey and what it means for the team:
“It feels great to make it to Masters. We’ve been working hard, and I think this is just the beginning. We’re not satisfied yet, though—we know there’s a lot to improve before we face the best teams in the world.”
Sentinels’ Biggest Strengths
When asked about what makes Sentinels such a formidable team right now, Zellsis highlighted their adaptability and firepower:
“One of our biggest strengths is our ability to adapt mid-game. We don’t just rely on one strategy—we read our opponents, make adjustments on the fly, and play with confidence.”
He also praised his teammates for their mechanical skill and clutch factor, particularly TenZ and zekken, who have been delivering standout performances throughout the qualifiers:
“TenZ is TenZ, man. You know he’s going to hit insane shots. But I think people sleep on how much zekken has stepped up—he’s been a monster for us.”
Areas for Improvement
Despite their strong form, Zellsis acknowledged that Sentinels still have weaknesses they need to address before Masters Bangkok. One of the key areas is closing out maps more efficiently:
“There were a couple of games where we had big leads and let teams back in. We can’t afford to do that at Masters, especially against international teams that punish mistakes hard.”
Another aspect he mentioned was communication under pressure, noting that while Sentinels’ teamwork is solid, there are still moments where they get chaotic in high-stress situations:
“Sometimes, things get too hectic, and we lose focus on the game plan. Cleaning up our comms and staying composed will be huge for us.”
Expectations for Masters Bangkok
Heading into Masters Bangkok, Zellsis is confident but realistic. He believes Sentinels have what it takes to compete with the best, but they need to bring their A-game every match:
“We know it’s going to be stacked. Teams like Paper Rex, Fnatic, and NAVI are always dangerous, and we have to be ready for anything. But we believe in ourselves—we’re coming to win.”
Final Thoughts
With Sentinels back on the international stage, all eyes will be on them to see if they can deliver in Bangkok. If they can refine their play and capitalize on their strengths, they could be serious contenders for the Masters title.
